"Shingo Gokan’s Speak Low has been designed to be an adventure from beginning to end. Your journey starts as you enter the barware shop on the ground floor. Let whoever is on duty know you’re after Speak Low and a bookcase on the back wall opens up to let you in to the inner sanctum. The first floor is home to an upbeat, fairly casual bar, while the smaller second floor, accessed by pressing Shanghai on the secret map, is the place to be if you want the drinks to do the talking. By his own admission, Gokan has cherry-picked ideas from his travels and brought them into being in this 20-seater room. There’s another floor where members can sit and sip their rare Japanese whiskies and scotch, which they buy and store in their personal lockers. As nice as it is, there’s no need for FOMO – the second floor is the best."
